St Joseph's Secondary School

St Joseph’s Secondary School in Drogheda is a large co-educational secondary school under the trusteeship of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust, with a student population of approximately 1,200 pupils. Formerly a CBS all-boys school, it has transitioned to mixed-gender education in recent years and includes an established autism setting with four dedicated classrooms supporting a diverse range of learners.

In her final year of college, Mary completed her teaching placement at St Joseph’s Secondary School, where she gained a broad and varied teaching experience across multiple year groups and programmes. During her time at St Joseph’s, Mary independently taught 1st year, 2nd year, Transition Year, 5th year and LCA classes, while also team-teaching a 1st year class from the school’s Autism Setting, allowing her to develop inclusive, adaptable, and student-centred teaching practices.
