St Michael's House

Special National School Raheny

St Michael’s House Special National School in Raheny, Dublin is a co-educational special national school supporting pupils with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities and additional needs. The school provides a child-centred, inclusive learning environment focused on individual development, wellbeing, and independence.

This placement marked Mary’s first year of teaching practice and her introduction to primary-level education, where she gained valuable experience through team teaching alongside a college peer. Working with a mixed-age, mixed-gender and mixed-faith class, she developed a strong awareness of how to adapt lessons and approaches to cater for a wide range of educational needs in an inclusive classroom setting.
